About Augustus

Augustus Edward Geddes was born 21st November 1990 in Melbourne, Australia. Gus is from a family of artists and began painting at a young age. Gus completed a Bachelor Degree of Fine Art at RMIT in 2013, winning the Tolarno Hotel Prize. Gus has extensively explored and studied various painting techniques and mediums through intuitive exploration as well as partaking in various classes and courses at The Victorian Collage of the Arts, The Julian Ashton Art School and other independent Melbourne based classes. Gus has gone on to have three successful exhibitions in Melbourne as well many other informal shows. Through an intuitive exploration of painting techniques, colour and composition; Gus has created a process-based practice that seeks to challenge and question the viewer's subjective interpretation and perception of content within abstract imagery.
